Gun #3 was the starboard broadside gun nearest the bow. It probably was a IX-in Dahlgren.
On March 8, Lieut. Hunter Davidson was at guns 2 and 3 but he moved to gun 1 on March 9 (or maybe he just added it to the guns he was in charge of?)
